What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Call on equine and mixed animal veterinarians, dealers, and distributor representatives to effectively promote product differentiation
- Deliver educational training using strong presentation and selling skills at customer sites and producer seminars
- Build and influence relationships across key trade channels, including veterinarians, distributors, and farm personnel
- Execute territory planning and priority setting through data analysis and strategic planning
- Manage a broad geographic area and diverse customer base to achieve sales targets
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Bachelor’s degree (BS/BA) or equivalent experience required
- Minimum of 2 years of equine-related experience for the Equine Specialist position
- Ability and willingness to travel overnight approximately 50% of the time, including some weekends
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Valid driver’s license required
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Master’s degree in Animal Science or a related field
- Animal health experience and knowledge of the dairy, beef, or equine industries
- 6 months of equine-related experience for Associate Equine Specialist role
- 8 years of equine-related experience for Senior Equine Specialist role
- Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, and Word
