      Summary
      This Equipment Manager is responsible for optimizing assets to meet customer requirements, service levels, revenue and profitability goals, and planner needs.

      Essential Functions

      • Balance freight and equipment availability in assigned markets according to capacity, customer requirements and planner needs and manage internal capacity to match freight volume.
      • Coordinate equipment pools availablity at customer sites and geographical locations to balance available assets and meet operations and customer needs.
      • Review daily PM report. Plan with Driver Manager and schedule units for PM with shops.
      • Communicate with shop, planners and driver managers to minimize any downtime of units and drivers, utilizing substitute or FLEX resources, if needed. Monitor exceptions in key metrics dashboard.
      • Review and create shop requested purchase orders under $5K.
      • Follow-up on all ongoing repair orders, and requested driver equipment and safety gear.
      • Address all equipment breakdowns.

      Skills and Abilities

      • Proven experience in establishing and maintain healthy working relationships with clients, vendors and peers.
      • Ability to understand, monitor, update or enhance existing business or work process.
      • Deliver effective verbal and written communication in order to drive results
      • Deal effectively with ambiguity.
      • Accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgement.
      • Understanding of the importance of meeting or exceeding established targets and ability to driver critical activities to completion.


      Qualifications

      • Bachelor's degree required in Finance, Business Administration/Management/Communication or Transportation/Logistics
      • Three (3) to five (5) years of experience with asset management
      • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access) is required
      • Knowledge of vehicle specifications, customer requirements and contractual agreements
      • Knowledge of operational forecasting and planning
      • Knowledge and experience with SAM, FIS, SMO and RIDE
