      Title: Equipment Manager

      Position Summary

      Duke University is seeking a qualified candidate for the equipment manager position. The Athletics Equipment Staff is responsible for the issuance, maintenance and upkeep of the equipment and apparel for 27 varsity sport programs, club sports, intramurals, and various other athletic departments. This position will work closely with student athletes, coaches, staff and vendors. The Equipment Manager will provide athletes with the necessary equipment and apparel required for competition and practice. Additional responsibilities will be determined by the Director of Athletic Equipment.

      Qualifications

      Qualifications include an undergraduate degree; experience using industrial laundry washers and dryers; experience with laundry chemical set ups and operations; an understanding of an inventory system and the Nike Gameday Site. This position must be able to lift 75 pounds, have a valid driver’s license, and be able to work nights and weekends.

      Essential Functions:

      · Provide laundry services for the athletics department.

      · Distribute clean laundry to student athletes, staff and coaches.

      · Provide after hour assistance for competition, practice, and events.

      · Assist other staff members with daily assignments and projects.

      · Order athletic equipment and apparel for designated sports and departments.

      · Inventory athletic apparel and equipment and distribute to proper departments.

      · Place orders and successfully budget team allotments on Nike Gameday Site.

      · Assist with set up for athletic competitions and practice.

      · Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Athletic Equipment.

      Minimum Qualifications

      Education

      Work requires analytical, communications and organizational skills generally acquired through completion of a bachelor's degree program.

      Experience

      Work requires one year of experience in equipment management or event OR AN EQUIVALENT COMBINATION OF RELEVANT EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE management.
