      The Opportunity:

      We’re currently in search of an Executive Chef who shares these values and will champion them at 1 Hotel Austin and who is a proven, effective and natural leader, creates change through culinary imagination, and knows how to maximize the talent and realize the potential of every team member.       About the role...

      • Develop and execute the pre-opening culinary and stewarding strategy in harmony with our property, brand, and sustainability goals.
      • Lead a diverse team with energy, ensuring the delivery of Good-Natured Service aligned with 1 Hotels' Vision, Mission, and Compass.
      • Oversee day-to-day operations, showcasing your culinary prowess, and masterfully manage all food-related functions.
      • Design and Coordinate menus, purchasing, staffing, and food preparation for various departments, with a focus on sustainability and locally sourced produce.
      • Ensure top-notch sanitation and food standards, offering excellent customer service, and being quick to respond to team member and guest concerns.
      • Stay on top of guest feedback, performance data, and market trends to drive engagement, boost revenue, and keep us at the forefront of the competition.
      • Develop and manage the culinary and stewarding budget, hitting financial goals while keeping a positive cost management index.
      • Recruit, select, and mentor an extraordinary team who embody the vibrant culture of 1 Hotels.
      • Foster a learning atmosphere, championing continuous improvement, innovation, and a passion for providing exceptional service.
      • Build and nurture an organizational culture that maximizes employee engagement, attracts top talent, and encourages mutual trust, respect, and cooperation.

      Qualifications

      About you...

      • Passionate about food and a minimum of 7 years of similar work experience
      • Expertise in menu concept and design, with high level of detail in quality and presentation
      • A post-secondary diploma or degree would be a plus.
      • An expert in culinary operations, a strong leader and a proven track record in guest and team member engagement and financial performance.
      • Prior experience in scheduling, labor costing, payroll administration and production control
      • Excels at communication, both verbal and written.
      • Is flexible and willing to meet the demands of a 24-hour operation.
