Job Summary:
Crown Bioscience, a global leader in translational oncology drug discovery services, is seeking a seasoned and strategic Leader for our East Coast Business Development team in the biotech sector. This role combines leadership in sales with a collaborative approach to coaching and developing first-line sales leaders, working closely with Sales Enablement and the SVP of Commercial. The ideal candidate will drive business growth, shape sales strategies, and contribute to the continued evolution of our sales organization by identifying new clients and business opportunities while promoting operational excellence.
This is a fully remote position, with a preference for candidates located on the East Coast.
Responsibilities:
• Leadership and Collaboration:
o Lead and inspire the East Coast business development team to achieve and exceed sales objectives in line with Crown Bioscience’s mission and values.
o Collaborate with Sales Enablement and the SVP of Commercial to coach and develop first-line sales leaders, fostering a high-performance, client-focused culture.
o Develop and implenet a strategy to increase global preclinical/translational biomarker sales in collaboration with the clinical biomarker team.
o Work closely with cross-functional teams, including scientific and operational leaders, to ensure alignment between business development efforts and the company’s strategic goals.
• Sales Strategy and Execution:
o Work with our VP of Startegy to develop and implement forward-thinking sales strategies to drive growth in Crown Bioscience’s service offerings.
o Identify market trends, emerging client needs, and new opportunities in the biotech sector to expand our client base.
o Align sales initiatives with the company’s global vision to deliver exceptional client value and industry-leading solutions.
• Business Development:
o Cultivate relationships with new and existing clients, positioning Crown Bioscience as a trusted partner in drug discovery and development.
o Actively seek and secure new business opportunities, contributing to a robust sales pipeline.
o Work in close collaboration with clients to understand their needs and deliver tailored, high-quality solutions that exceed expectations.
• Organizational Evolution:
o Assess and refine sales structures, tools, and processes to ensure Crown Bioscience remains a leader in a dynamic market.
o Champion the integration of new technologies and methodologies to enhance operational efficiency and client engagement.
o Partner with senior leadership to shape the future direction of the sales organization, ensuring it remains adaptable and innovative.Minimum Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Life Sciences, or a related field.
• Min.10 years in sales leadership and business development roles.
• Experience in biotech, life sciences, or preclinical research services in oncology field.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at various levels.
• Demonstrated ability to develop and execute strategic sales plans.
• Proficiency in data-driven decision-making and performance analytics.
• Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams, including senior leadership, scientific, and operational teams.
Preferred Requirements:
• Familiarity with the biotech sector's market trends, client needs, and business opportunities.
• Advanced degree in a relevant field (e.g., MBA, Life Sciences).
• Proven track record of negotiating complex deals and driving significant revenue growth.
• Strong relationship-building and networking capabilities, particularly in the East Coast biotech market.
• Ability to implement new technologies and methodologies to enhance sales processes and client engagement.
