- Responsible for developing and implementing nursing strategies aligned with the organization’s mission, vision, and goals.
- Lead initiatives to improve patient care quality and safety.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, professional development, and accountability among nursing staff.
- Participate in executive leadership meetings and contribute to strategic planning.
- Oversee the daily operations of nursing departments to ensure efficient and effective delivery of care.
- Monitor and evaluate nursing performance metrics and implement improvement plans as necessary.
- Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, accreditation standards, and organizational policies.
- Manage budgets, resources, and staffing to optimize departmental performance.
- Promote evidence-based practice and the integration of clinical research into patient care.
- Support nursing education and professional development programs.
- Encourage innovation and the adoption of new technologies to enhance patient care.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure coordinated and comprehensive care delivery.
- Lead initiatives to improve patient safety and quality outcomes.
- Develop and implement quality improvement programs and clinical protocols.
- Monitor and analyze patient care data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Ensure effective risk management and infection control practices.
- Recruit, retain, and mentor nursing staff to build a high-performing team.
- Foster a positive work environment that supports staff well-being and job satisfaction.
- Promote diversity, equity, and inclusion within the nursing workforce.
- Address staff concerns and grievances in a timely and effective manner.
- Supports the District Mission, Vision and Values Statements.

- Is a leader in continuous quality improvement activities within Nursing Departments, the clinics and the District.
- Participates in the development of Disaster wide skills criteria annually.
- Attends regular board meetings and committee meetings as assigned.
- Complies with annual PPD testing and flu vaccination.
- Maintains responsibility for own professional development.
- Must maintain nursing license for Registered Nursing and any certifications required.
- Must have the ability to multi-task multiple job duties.
- Must have the ability to handle stressful situations and interact appropriately with staff, patients, visitors and physicians.
- Must have the ability to sit or stand for prolonged periods.
- Must have the ability to perform multiple computer programs.
- Must have the ability to keyboard.
- Must have the ability to function as a team member.
- Education:
- Current California license as an RN. Master’s degree in healthcare administration, business administration, nursing, or a related field required.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 7 years of progressive leadership experience in a healthcare setting, with significant experience in medical group administration and nursing leadership.
- Proven track record in provider contracting, revenue cycle management, financial analysis, and clinic operations.
- Skills/Ability: Excellent clinical knowledge. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Computer skills are required. Exhibits the ability to organize work assignments and follow through with accuracy. Exercises good judgment, demonstrates initiative, emotional stability, tact and poise.
- LVMC reserves the right to modify the minimum requirements depending on the needs of the organization.
Salary Range: $200,000 - $250,000
Pay rates are determined based on experience and internal equity.
Position Summary:
The Executive Director of Nursing (EDN) reports to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO). The EDN will provide strategic, operational, and clinical leadership of nursing services and other healthcare operations, ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care while optimizing efficiency and financial performance. The EDN plays a crucial role in enhancing patient experiences, optimizing resource utilization, and ensuring regulatory compliance.
