  Institutional Banking and Markets (IB&M) is responsible for leading the Group’s relationships with major corporate, institutional and government clients and institutional investors, and provides a range of capital raising, transactional and risk management products and services. The division also performs a meaningful internal role for the Group by providing equitised, markets, lending and transaction banking execution capabilities to other CBA business divisions that allows them to capture opportunities with business customers.

  Global Institutional Banking Coverage (GIBC) leads banking relationship management and the provision of capital, transaction banking, risk management and capital solutions to our clients. The team’s purpose is to provide IB&M clients with solutions across the financing spectrum to support their strategic objectives.
  
  Global Institutional Banking Coverage operates in three industry eco-systems: Institutional, Corporate and Natural Resources and Carbon. Transaction banking supports the coverage ecosystems through the distribution of transaction banking and analytical insights.

  Do Work That Matters
  
  As an Executive Director you will work closely with a combination of internal stakeholders and external customers to deliver strategic outcomes for the GIBC business. You will drive the development of the strategic agenda and provide support to the implementation of the strategy, planning and operations, financial management and risk management.

  You will be required to work across a combination of business partners across strategy, product and coverage functions to ensure all business decisions are made with the entire business in mind. In addition, this newly created role will manage a variety of strategic and business performance related activities to enable the bankers to focus on their clients.

  To succeed in the role, the individual will need to:

  • Support the Managing Director (MD), Transaction Banking Solutions & Strategic Business Development and Executive General Manager (EGM), Global Institutional Banking Coverage with the execution of key strategic initiatives of the business and implement and manage operational consistency and alignment across the business unit.

  • Work closely with leadership to define commitments and outcomes and provide strategic project guidance. Provide strategic assessment, alternatives and guidance to MD / EGM.

  • Leverage data driven insights to guide continuous improvement opportunities with key decision makers.

  • Prepare materials for the Group Executive/ Executive General Manager for various business, risk and governance forums, including the preparation of presentation materials, speaking notes, strategy papers and Board and CEO level documentation.

  • Manage high complexity and change, solve problems, manage senior stakeholder relationships and operate with an enterprise mindset.

  • Provide people leadership and management where relevant and lead the capability uplift approach for others in the Performance discipline.

  • Oversee workforce and financial management activity against targets including forecasts, budgets, actuals, and reconciliation.

  • Work at breadth and depth across multiple areas and synthesise large data sets to provide concise analysis and solutions.

  • Oversee, facilitate and coordinate the Leadership team meetings and their respective Operations/ Business Management teams to deliver an aligned approach for agreed Business Unit initiatives and strategic priorities.

  • Embed a culture of operational excellence and maximise efficiency by designing appropriate content, frequency and agenda for meetings, strategy forums, leadership events and off-sites, and employee engagement in partnership with relevant support partners.

  • Manage and drive EGM / MD Actions from various leadership Teams.
