      The National WWII Museum in New Orleans is currently seeking an Executive Director for the Sanderson Leadership Center. The Executive Director will lead the design and development of the new Center and oversee its programs, personnel, and daily operations. The Executive Director will have substantial opportunity for both vision and execution as the Center enters the initial stages of development, design, and implementation. The ideal candidate is an accomplished, motivated, collaborative leader, with a proven track record in leadership development and coaching, teaching, and mentoring diverse audiences. The Executive Director will lead a small team and report directly to the Executive Director, Jenny Craig Institute for the Study of War and Democracy at the National World War II Museum.

      Primary Duties :

      • Develop the Sanderson Leadership Center’s completion timeline and oversee its implementation.
      • Develop short- and long-term strategy for the Sanderson Leadership Center.
      • Design, build, and ensure delivery of focused development content and curriculum to achieve Museum goals for the Center and promote its mission.
      • Program material and activities in support of the Center’s development plan and oversee operations during implementation.
      • Consult with business, academic, government, and military leaders to understand their leadership and management development needs.
      • Deliver best-in-class, comprehensive leadership and management development education, experiences, and exposure for Center participants.
      • Oversee development of the Center’s supporting technology (simulations, audio-visual technology, scenario support).
      • Leverage multiple delivery methods to tailor the Center’s programs to the needs of its various participants.
      • Track and drive measures of success/impact and evaluate Leadership Center programs and participant experience for future refinement.

      Requirements & Qualifications:

      • 8-10 years of experience working in Leadership Development and / or a related discipline.
      • Master’s degree or higher in Business Administration, Organizational Behavior, Communications, Psychology, or equivalent combination of experience and education.
      • A thought leader in the leadership development field with a natural curiosity for innovatively leveraging leading edge practices across multiple fields and industries, as well as the government and the military.
      • Demonstrated performance in leadership development strategy, design, and implementation.
      • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills; executive coaching experience desirable.
      • An understanding of the American role in World War II and the varied dimensions of American leadership throughout the war effort, both at home and abroad, is a plus.
