Engagements with internal stakeholders to coordinate and progress CBA’s Payments Strategy
Responses to Executive Leadership and Board requests
Engagements with Payments product teams to support the development of strategic product capabilities
Identification of new strategic partnership opportunities for Payments Domain
Engagements with external start-ups, big-tech and specialist businesses to evaluate and progress new partnership opportunities

10+ years professional services experience, with background such as consulting, corporate strategy, corporate development and innovation
Ability to deliver concise and compelling written and verbal updates to senior executives
Highly skilled in structured problem solving, conceptual thinking, quantitative analysis, and prioritisation
Experienced in planning and delivery of strategy projects for senior leaders
Ability to lead a small team that achieves maximum leverage across the bank through effective collaboration with a wide variety of teams
Ability to engage and manage multiple senior stakeholders with contrasting views to develop alignment
Strong commercial judgement in developing business plans for investment and partnership opportunities
University degree qualification in business, economics, technology, law or commercially-related discipline
MANAGER, PAYMENTS STRATEGY & PARTNERSHIPS - 6 month contract.
Payments Strategy & Partnerships supports three key functions:
1. Development of CBA’s payments strategy, spanning the bank’s payment priorities from RBS, BB, IB&M
2. New payments product partnerships to deliver greater value for customers and drive growth
2. Payments Domain strategic initiatives
Payments Strategy & Partnerships sits within the Payments Domain in Business Bank. The Payments Domain is responsible for CBA’s portfolio of domestic and international payments products for all customer segments (including NPP, International Money Transfers, BPAY, Direct Debit). Payments Domain also manages CBA’s payments advocacy and representation to Government, regulators and industry bodies – as well as relationship pricing. Payments Strategy & Partnerships works closely with each of these teams, as well as product, technology and strategy teams from across the Group.
Make an Impact:
As Executive Manager, Payments Strategy & Partnerships you will lead the development and management of the CBA Payments Strategy and new partnerships. This is a highly visible and strategic role responsible for identifying and executing strategies and partnerships that are aligned to CBA’s Strategy and Purpose.
You will report directly into the General Manager Payments Strategy & Relationship Pricing, and lead a team of three direct reports. You will regularly engage with senior leaders and teams across the bank to solve the biggest unresolved payments opportunities and challenges facing CBA, and build alignment on strategic priorities to execute.
You will have an opportunity to build a broad network across CBA to support professional opportunities for when the contract finishes.
