- Prior experience working in executive reward in house or in consulting, including UK plc listed company remuneration governance, Remuneration Committee support, Directors’ Remuneration Report, executive offers/exits, annual reward cycle and incentive design.
- Supporting on all aspects of governance around executive pay, including Remuneration Committee planning and papers, Directors’ Remuneration Policy reviews, preparation of the annual Directors’ Remuneration Report, shareholder engagement and AGM preparation.
- Reviewing the effectiveness of the Remuneration Policy and its operation annually to assure compliance and alignment with standard process and good corporate governance.
- Involvement in executive incentive scheme design and application/implementation into plans for the broader employee population.
- Supporting on annual reward cycle reward recommendations and process for the Senior Leader and Executive Committee population (including benchmarking)
- Overseeing all compensation and contractual aspects of Senior Leader new hires, job changes and exits, including design of new hire packages and recommendations for any cash/equity buy-out awards for forfeited compensation, and overseeing the remuneration aspects of senior executive exits.
- Supporting on Executive Committee (including the Executive Directors) compensation and administration including external hires, job changes and exits.
- Oversee Non-Executive Directors’ fee administration including annual benchmarking process.
- Managing the shareholding requirements process for Senior Leaders & Executive Committee members, including an annual review and annual statement communications.
- Responsible for governance of the discretionary share plans, including the management of discretionary treatment and application of the Plan Rules.
- Supporting the Executive Reward Director with ad-hoc projects throughout the year, which will include research and analysis, together with the development of recommendations.
- Pro-actively monitoring the external landscape, both in terms of keeping up-to-date on relevant legislation relating to reward issues (e.g. tax, share plans, pensions) as well as emerging trends, hot topics and pioneering reward practices.
- A personal passion for reward and the impact it can have on business performance and individual engagement.
- Strong analytical and numerical skills – a first-rate attention to detail whilst also considering the bigger possibility and application of data.
- Financially astute – able to understand business performance measures and financial instruments e.g. share options.
- Strong planning and organisational skills, with the ability to manage high volumes of work and conflicting priorities.
- Strong IT skills – specifically advanced Excel, PowerPoint and HR systems knowledge (preferably Workday).
- Self-reliant, curious and pro-active, able to lead and take individual accountability for the delivery of outcomes.
- Comfortable dealing with ambiguity, leading through complex issues and creative problem solving.
- Articulate and persuasive with strong written and oral communication skills, with experience of successfully managing a broad range of partners.
- Prior experience of pay benchmarking and designing and delivering short and long-term incentives.
