In return you will work with a dynamic culinary team and will open yourself to a world of opportunity through the Marriott and Larco brands, have fun and learn.RESPONSIBILITIES: (Including but not limited to)Ensures all Kitchen Associates are performing their duties to standard while encouraging and motivating teamwork.Communicates job expectations to Kitchen Associates in a clear and effective manner.Manages and develops Associates performance by providing monthly feedback, annual performance appraisals, and discipline where necessary.Handles guest concerns, compliments and suggestions in a professional manner, using LEARN processes and principle.Finds a resolution to any kitchen operational issue promptly.Organizes and participates in quarterly Kitchen Departmental meetings, ensuring all Associates attend and important topics discussed in a timely manner.Provides Kitchen Associates with the necessary training, including new-hire orientation proceduresCoordinates and publishes the scheduling of all Kitchen Associates in accordance with company policyEnsures quality and quantity of food production meets or exceeds predetermined standardsCompletes the daily ordering of all food products consistent with business levels and budgeted food costs.Assists Sales and Events in designing menus specific for client/guest requestsAssists executive chef in creating, costing and implementing new menus as needed based on global food trendsMonitors productivity, making necessary adjustments in order to operate within the budgeted guidelinesSubmits payroll on a timely basisParticipates in the month-end food inventory.Develop the Kitchen Associate Engagement Survey action plan, and to work on increasing these scores and Associate satisfaction.Collaborate and provide support on social media initiatives including online reputation management (TripAdvisor, Yelp, etc.), content creation and social customer service.Other duties as assigned by the Executive Chef.QUALIFICATIONS:Red Seal Certification and previous Sous Chef experience required, preferably in a hotel setting.Excellent Guest Relations Skills, a proven ability to motivate, mentor, guide and discipline in accordance with current hotel policiesFlexible to work workdays, evenings and weekends as per the needs of the operations.Advanced Food Safety certificate an assetKnowledge of local health, safety and sanitation lawsKnowledge of food costing and kitchen managementMust be able to work days, evenings and weekendsThe Toronto Marriott City Centre Hotel is an equal opportunity employer committed to fostering a positive and inclusive workplace.
