Overview
Executive Vice President, Global Core Consumer Products will have overall end-to-end responsibility for product development, product management, platform management and product sales support to drive success for the Core Consumer (Credit, Debit, Prepaid products) business initiative across all regions.
A key member of the Consumer Products & Processing Leadership Team, the incumbent will work very closely with global and regional management, business development and customer delivery and be responsible for providing leadership throughout Mastercard in understanding Core Consumer market opportunities, consumer, merchant, issuer and acquirer value drivers, third party participants and capabilities, applicable regulation, competitive activities and forces, and any opportunities and threats to Mastercard.
This role will be responsible for driving and executing against one the organization’s top priorities. He/she will look horizontally across existing Mastercard assets to package global/multi-region solutions which address customer needs. The position plays a critical role in driving differentiation within the issuer, merchant, and acceptance community resulting in better relationships, preference, and revenue.
This role requires strong strategic thinking, a robust payments business orientation, proven cross-departmental project management and team organizational skills, knowledge of the payments value chain, an innovation mindset and strong leadership capabilities.
Role
• Responsible for leading Mastercard’s global Core Consumer Product organization and setting Core Consumer strategy, including the development of new products and payment propositions.
• Create global and regional Strategic Plans and Product Strategies working with the relevant leads and deliver on agreed metrics in terms of share, net revenue and GDV; partner closely with regional leads to continually enhance and refine.
• Accountable for idea generation, concept validation, and business case development for existing product enhancements and new product development using the new product development/go-to-market process.
• Oversee the product development pipeline to ensure delivery of key priorities in alignment with global strategies and regional priorities.
• Infuse product management excellence across multiple product lines.
• Effectively manage cross-functional relationships with regional management teams and other key internal stakeholders, including Account Management, Business Development, Expert Sales, Customer Delivery, Marketing, Acceptance and Mastercard Technologies
• Lead and execute with key principles of customer centricity, best-in-class customer and consumer experience all throughout the value chain for all stakeholders.
• Act as a subject matter expert, strategic thought leader and spokesperson for Core Consumer products both internally and externally.
• Partner across the organization to understand customer and business needs to develop off-the shelf bundles to serve various customer verticals, with a focus on minimal customer operational /implementation impact, excellent customer experience and quality delivery.
• Accountability for leading and motivating a large and diverse team, creating a high performing culture with a strong emphasis on professional development.
All About You
The ideal candidate for this position should demonstrate:
• Bachelor degree in business or equivalent degree.
• 15+ years business experience in payments industry, consumer products, including product management and product development in financial services and / or bankcard industry.
• Previous experience delivering consumer products in multiple geographies.
• Exhibit thought leadership with a high degree of strategic vision and ability to translate that vision into concrete actions/impact.
• Exhibit a consumer mindset.
• Demonstrated experience in innovation with a track record of executing and delivering new programs or products.
• Operations expertise, with demonstrated multi-disciplinary knowledge, i.e. product development, emerging technologies business development, marketing, risk, etc.
• Superior communications, presentation and interpersonal skills including the ability to work with and ability to influence people across a global matrix organization at all levels.
• Management style that is pro-active with respect for employees and their development to the highest levels of performance.
