We're hiring a paralegal to assist our legal team in preparing legal documents, filing motions, coordinating law office activity, and conducting legal research. Responsibilities
• Assist lawyers in preparing legal documentation, pleadings, and correspondence, including subpoenas, deposition notices, complaints, and legal briefs
• Support trial preparation by organizing exhibits, coordinating witnesses, and conducting legal research
• Perform administrative duties, including answering phone calls and maintaining an organized case filing system
• Conduct client interviews to gather information about legal matters
• Assist attorneys with files
• Communicate with clients consistently regarding updates and changes to their case
• Aid lawyers in trial preparation by preparing and organizing exhibits, organizing and coordinating witnesses, conducting research on legal articles, and assisting with client meetings and filing motions
• Prepare legal documents, correspondence, and pleadings such as complaints, interrogatories, subpoenas, deposition notices, pretrial orders, legal briefs, and affidavits, under the supervision of a lawyer
• Hold client interviews to gather information about their legal problems
• Coordinate law office activity, including the drafting subpoenas and coordinating with process servers
• Take care of administrative tasks such as answering phones and maintaining an organized filing system for all legal documents
Qualifications
• 2+ years as a Family Law Paralegal in the state of Texas
• Professional paralegal certification or advanced paralegal education
• Clear, concise, and effective communication skills, as well as proficiency in writing and grammar
• Proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Teams, Outlook), and familiarity with legal software
• Strong organizational and time-management skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills, as well as a positive attitude
• Ability to reliably commute to Austin, TX 78746
• Completion of a nationally-accredited paralegal program strongly preferred
• At least 3 years of experience in legal services under an attorney or lawyer in a law firm setting
• Talented communicator and writer
• Excellent organizational skills, and time-management skills
• ABA-approved paralegal certificate program such as an Associate's degree or proprietary school program in paralegal studies, Bachelor's degree desiredAbout the company
