Job Description

- Prepare legal documents such as pleadings, motions, and orders for review, approval, and use by the attorney.
- Correspond with clients, opposing counsel and/or opposing parties, and court coordinators.
- Prepare spreadsheets and documents for Inventory and Appraisement and calculate child support.
- File pleadings with the court.
- Coordinate issuance and delivery of subpoenas.
- Conduct intake calls with potential new clients and prepare attorneys for initial consultation.
- Assist attorneys in preparing for mediations, depositions, hearings, trials, and conferences.
- Assist attorneys in analyzing and resolving problems/challenges that arise in family law cases.
- Draft discovery requests/responses, assist clients in complying with discovery requests and document production.
- Calendar relevant due dates regarding discovery and all deadlines associated with the TRCP.
- Undergraduate degree preferred but not required
- Paralegal certificate or certification preferred but not required
- 5+ years of Texas Family Law experience
- Solid understanding of the Texas Family Code and the Texas Rules of Civil Procedure
- Exceptional verbal and written communications skills, with superior attention to detail
- Excellent prioritization, problem solving and time management skills
- Ability to learn and utilize new software, technology and techniques as needed to meet the changing demands of the legal marketplace

The paralegal will work closely with a GBA Partner to support the firm's clients in a manner that is consistent with our . The right candidate must have 5+ years of Texas Family Law experience along with attention to detail, strong organizational and drafting skills, and the ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbal.

GBA offers a competitive compensation package including a market-competitive base salary commensurate with experience, medical, dental, vision, 401k contributions, holidays including a full week between December 25th through January 1st, PTO, annual bonuses, and more.
