What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Engage with systemically marginalized producers to facilitate their participation in federal, state, and local programs
- Develop, implement, and report on outreach initiatives in collaboration with the Farmer Outreach Manager
- Build and maintain partnerships with urban growers and organizations in the Philadelphia area
- Identify and document the needs and barriers faced by local farmers
- Provide technical assistance and outreach to urban growers seeking USDA program participation
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Relevant experience in agricultural production or technical support, preferably in urban agriculture
- Commitment to advancing diversity, equity, inclusion, and justice
- Strong public speaking skills and comfortability discussing U.S. federal programs
- Passion for the organization's mission and commitment to a supportive workplace
- Ability to engage in one-on-one relationship building with farmers in the Philadelphia area
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience in the development and administration of educational programming
- Strong professional networks within the Philadelphia urban agriculture community
- Familiarity with USDA programs and services, including FSA and NRCS
- Professional working proficiency in both Spanish and English
