      Fashion Events Manager

      Reports to: Head of Visual Merchandising

      Contract : Permanent, Full-Time

      Location: Toronto

      Your role @Chanel:

      As a Fashion Events Manager, you must have a strong background in events and project management and have the capability to deliver multiple events, manage logistics efficiently and effectively, whilst providing a luxury experience to clients in line with the Brand Image guidelines, in a way that only CHANEL can.


      What impact you can create at Chanel:

      • Ensure all events are in line with the fashion strategy (locally, regionally (UK) & globally) & brand image, working closely with the Canadian team (Head of VM & Head of Client Strategy), on time and on budget.

      CONCEPTION

      • Liaise with Department Managers to ascertain their precise event requirements;

      • Research and gather information on venues, suppliers and contractors, then negotiate prices and hire;

      • Produce detailed proposals for events (e.g. designs, timelines, venues, suppliers, staffing and budgets).

      PRODUCTION

      • Liaise with all key stake holders including Contractors, Directors, Team leaders and Staff to ensure clear communication of key information to all main stakeholders;

      • Plan room layouts and entertainment programmes, scheduling workshops and demonstrations;

      • Coordinate venue management, Caterers, Contractors and equipment hire as required;

      • Manage a team of staff on live events, give full briefings;

      • Coordinate suppliers, handling client queries and troubleshooting on the day of the event to ensure that everything runs smoothly;

      • Oversee the dismantling and removal of events and clear the venue efficiently.

      POST PRODUCTION

      • Manage storage and inventory of all event furniture and props;

      • Create & deliver post-mortem analysis on the success of each event, to all stakeholders.

      COMPLIANCE

      • Comply with the CSR strategy set by Canada & Global;

      • Ensure that insurance and health and safety obligations are always adhered to;

      • Ensure all events are legally compliant;

      • Follow and adhere to the company onboarding process for all suppliers.

      BUDGET

      • Agree to, manage and adhere to the project budget;

      • Negotiate best prices with suppliers without compromising on quality & delivery;

      • Manage & code all invoices and payments.

      What you will bring to the role:

      • Events/Project management experience

      • Leadership skills

      • Working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

      • The ability to handle a challenging environment as well as to challenge decisions

      • The ability to multi-task, communicate at all levels and manage workload by priority/deadline across several projects, while performing under pressure whilst remaining calm and confident

      • The ability to manage budgets accompanied with strong negotiation skills when confirming the best price from venues, suppliers and contractors

      • Excellent problem-solving skills, organisational skills, diplomacy, as well as communication and interpersonal skills

      • Excellent time-management skills and the ability to work under pressure to ensure the efficient running of an event

      • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail

      • High attention to detail & creativity, in a thorough and responsible manner

      • A flexible and proactive approach

      • A personable personality with good network skills and valuing teamwork
