      Remote and part-time position up to 30 hours / week

      What you will do

      Assist Grants Supervisor/Project Director with accounts payable, financial analysis, financial statement preparation, financial audits and accounting system maintenance and training for federal and other grant awards. Support other grants management team members (program management, accounting, and financial reporting) in their respective roles.
      • Ensure compliance with 2 CFR Part 200, including cost principles (Subpart E), administrative requirements, and audit standards
      • Review and validate grant expenditures for allowability, allocability, reasonableness, and proper documentation
      • Review cost reimbursement packages for accuracy and completeness, including all supporting schedules and documentation; return submissions for revision when required documentation is missing or insufficient
      • Provide targeted guidance and training to staff when recurring documentation gaps or compliance issues are identified
      • Submit and track reimbursement requests/drawdowns, ensuring alignment with grant terms and funding requirements
      • Reconcile expenditures to approved budgets and general ledger activity
      • Maintain comprehensive audit-ready documentation and ensure adherence to record retention requirements
      • Support Single Audit (Subpart F) and other compliance reviews by preparing required schedules and responding to inquiries
      • Identify and resolve compliance issues, discrepancies, or unsupported costs
      • Collaborate with finance and program teams to ensure expenditures meet funding and regulatory requirement
      • Assist with the development and enforcement of policies and procedures related to compliance and reimbursement processes
      • As part of our compliance program, all team members are required to follow industry leading data and system security practices.


      What you will need
      • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Education.
      • Strong analytical, technical, interpersonal, and organizational skills
      • Ability to think and work independently as well as part of a team.
      • Familiarity with regulations applied to Federal grants.
      • Ability to administer grant compliance and reporting requirements.
      • Ability to design and implement grants management training programs using appropriate federal guidelines.
      • Competent in Microsoft Office applications and ability to learn and use computer software as necessary. Ability to use basic office equipment.
      • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
      • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
      • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form


      What we prefer
      • Minimum 3 years working experience in grants management and/or accounting/finance field overseeing $75 million+ in grant funds.
      • Familiarity with Education Department General Administrative Regulations (EDGAR) Title 34-Education.
      • Experience and knowledge of 2 CFR Part 200- Uniform Administrative Requirements, Cost Principles, and Audit Requirements for Federal Awards.
      • Experience in non-profit fund accounting preferred, but not required.
      • Experience with accounting of compliance for federal programs preferred, but not required.
