      Field Project Manager

      Location: Travel-based / Field Role (Assigned to Packagers, Storage Yards, and Project Sites)

      Employment Type: Full-Time

      About the Role

      The Field Project Manager (FPM) serves as Farren's on-site lead throughout the full project lifecycle-from packager to storage to final site delivery. This role is critical to ensuring safe, efficient, and accurate execution of complex transportation and installation projects. Field Project Managers act as the direct extension of the internal project team, managing coordination between drivers, carriers, contractors, customers, and internal stakeholders while maintaining Farren's high standards for safety, documentation, and customer satisfaction.

      Requirements

      Key Responsibilities

      Project Execution & Field Leadership
      • Serve as Farren's on-site representative at packagers, storage yards, and job sites
      • Coordinate daily logistics for inbound and outbound loads, ensuring schedule adherence and priority alignment
      • Manage the flow of traffic, staging areas, and crane operations at job sites
      • Act as the central point of communication between drivers, carriers, contractors, and internal project managers
      • Identify and escalate schedule conflicts, site constraints, safety concerns, or delivery risks in real time

      Documentation & Compliance
      • Ensure all shipments move with accurate and complete Bills of Lading (BOL) and Proof of Delivery (POD)
      • Verify PRO/Order numbers, serial numbers, packager IDs, and project designations align with tracking systems
      • Submit signed PODs and required paperwork within required timeframes to support billing and closeout
      • Confirm all loads comply with permit, securement, and safety requirements

      Packager Operations
      • Lead on-site loading operations and inspect trailers, tractors, and lifting equipment
      • Verify component identification, piece counts, and packing lists prior to loading
      • Identify short shipments or missing materials and communicate issues immediately
      • Document all loading activity using Company Cam and ensure proper securement prior to departure

      Storage Yard & Inventory Management
      • Maintain accurate inventory tracking for all stored components
      • Create and manage inventory entries, including tagging and Farren ID assignments
      • Coordinate inbound and outbound traffic while maintaining yard organization and safety
      • Inspect components for damage and ensure housekeeping standards are continuously met
      • Update inventory records when components exit storage to ensure billing accuracy

      Site Delivery & Installation Support
      • Coordinate delivery cadence with GC/MC/EC teams and confirm site readiness
      • Manage staging, traffic routing, and crane feeding operations
      • Assist drivers with maneuvering, securement removal, and escorting when required
      • Communicate real-time schedule updates, delays, or site-driven adjustments back to the internal team
      • Maintain continuous site communication to protect delivery sequencing and project timelines

      Meetings & Reporting
      • Participate in weekly Field Project Manager assignment meetings (mandatory)
      • Attend daily internal project meetings to provide field updates and action items
      • Utilize the Heavy Haul Status Tracker to manage schedules, priorities, and load details
      • Provide proactive feedback to improve processes, safety, and execution

      Qualifications
      • Experience in field-based project management, logistics, transportation, construction, or heavy haul operations
      • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple locations, schedules, and priorities
      • Excellent communication skills with the ability to coordinate across drivers, contractors, and internal teams
      • Working knowledge of load documentation, inventory tracking, and safety requirements
      • Ability to travel extensively and work in active industrial job-site environments
      • Comfortable using tracking tools, spreadsheets, mobile apps, and photo documentation systems
