What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Originate mortgage loans within an assigned market by taking applications and submitting them for processing and underwriting
- Follow up to secure necessary documentation for processing, underwriting, and closing in a timely manner
- Engage in loan sales and conduct sales-related activities outside of employer locations
- Ensure compliance with National Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS) registration requirements
- Maintain a satisfactory criminal and credit record as part of the NMLS registration process
What is Required (Qualifications):
- High school diploma or equivalent
- At least one year of experience in mortgage, sales, real estate, or banking
- Ability to travel as needed
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to analyze financial information
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Well-developed sales ability with an established referral base within the assigned market
- Basic knowledge of pricing and underwriting requirements for various mortgage insurance companies
- Familiarity with local, state, and national laws related to real estate
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
