What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Oversee banking portals, managing user access and authorizations for the Council
- Act as the primary contact for banking services, ensuring all divisions have required services operating effectively
- Manage the implementation of new banking services and lead banking and custody procurement projects
- Assist in investment accounting and prepare reports and presentations for quarterly Investment Review Advisory Committee meetings
- Provide high levels of customer service to staff and stakeholders while conducting financial analyses to ensure integrity of financial information
What is Required (Qualifications):
- High school diploma or GED with nine (9) years of relevant work experience, or an associate degree with seven (7) years, or a bachelor's degree with five (5) years, or a master's degree with three (3) years of relevant experience in accounting, banking, or investment environments
- Experience with the implementation and use of banking products and services
- Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and financial analysis strategies
- Proven ability to effectively present information and collaborate across teams
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work with minimal supervision
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience in governmental accounting and Minnesota government finance
- Familiarity with banking product knowledge and experience in leading implementations
- Experience in an institutional investment environment, particularly with fixed income securities
- Certified Treasury Professional (CTP) certification
- Knowledge of Minnesota statutes regarding investment of public funds and PCI security standards
