What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Review and analyze financial reports related to the Master Cooperative Agreement (MCA)
- Prepare accurate and timely MCA billings in compliance with National Guard Bureau specifications
- Reconcile general ledger accounts and balance revenue and expenditures for fiscal year closeout
- Act as backup chart of accounts custodian by managing account codes
- Prepare financial statements and reports, ensuring adherence to GAAP and Uniform Guidance
What is Required (Qualifications):
- One year of experience as a Fiscal Analyst 2; OR three years of professional-level accounting, budgeting, or auditing experience
- College-level education in accounting or a related field may substitute for experience (two years of education equals one year of experience)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel
- Ability to analyze financial records and apply complex state and federal regulations
- Valid driver’s license to operate in the State of Washington
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field
- Experience with State of Washington accounting/budgeting systems (AFRS, Workday, etc.)
- Familiarity with monitoring and adjusting grants for various government entities
- Experience in accounts receivable processes and posting transactions
- Commitment to continuous learning and improvement in financial practices
