      Job Summary

      As needed and directed, the Fitness Center Assistant performs various Fitness Center duties including facility upkeep, monitoring and providing assistance to members, facilitating member orientations, closing procedures, bulletin boards, assistance with incentive programs, and other tasks as assigned by the Fitness and Wellness Leader.

      Standard hours will be Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 2:00pm - 6:00pm with additional hours as needed for coverage

      Job Responsibilities
      • Acts as WELLness Center representative to answer questions courteously and respectfully and/or help members on exercise equipment. Promotes and encourages member health and wellness, including safe and appropriate use of equipment.
      • As directed, conducts guided tours of the WELLness Center with potential members and provides orientation to new members.
      • Develops health and wellness information including flyers, digital articles, and bulletin boards.
      • Performs facility duties including weekly equipment cleaning and nightly closing duties. Launders, folds, and distributes towels.
      • Handles closing and lock-up procedures at the WELLness Center. Follows emergency and security protocols and communicates appropriately regarding safety or security issues/concerns.
      • As needed, assists with promotion and execution of incentive programs for WELLness Center members and company-wide wellness programming.
      • Assists with updating and coordinating the Westfield Fitness and Wellness social media and internal site pages.
      • Shadows Fitness Assessment and exercise program appointments and conducts these appointments if education and experience allow.
      • Serves as a role model for employees to promote healthy lifestyles and wellness.


      Job Qualifications
      • Experience maintaining a high degree of customer service focus and professionalism.
      • Experience or education in exercise science, health promotion, or related field preferred.
      • High School degree or equivalent required.
