      Description

      The Fitness Manager (FM) is the face of the Personal Training department. The FM is the leader of their personal training team and partner to the clubs General Manager. The FM plays a critical role in ensuring all members are properly inducted into the club to help us live out of core purpose to help us change peoples lives for the better. By embodying the companys core values of Live the Brand, Be Tenacious and Be a Team player, the FM delivers exceptional customer service experiences and consistent growth of the Personal Training department to help change our members lives.

      The FM will develop and maintain excellent working relationships with:

      • The Director of Personal Training
      • General Managers
      • Operation Managers
      • Membership Counselors
      • Head Trainers
      • Personal Trainers
      • The Director of Marketing
      • Brick Bodies Members
      • External vendors and partners

      Expected Outcomes

      • Drive revenue production and personal training sales to hit monthly and annual budget targets at our flagship club.
      • Hit personal monthly lead generation, revenue, and KPI targets.
      • Conduct and/or schedule Welcome Sessions for all new members.
      • Conduct phone calls focused on setting appointments with prospective personal training clients.
      • Develop a high-performing team through coaching, mentorship, and accountability of the personal training team at their location.
      • Conduct, at a minimum, monthly individual meetings with each member of the personal training team at their location.
      • Partner with the Director of Personal Training to recruit, hire, develop and grow the personal training staff to be high-performing trainers who can deliver sales production, retention, and results.

      Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

      • Responsible for the clubs personal training department to ensure that the club hits or exceeds monthly targets.
      • Achieve the following benchmarks:
        • Successfully manage salaried personal trainers on an agreed upon weekly schedule of educational development of the salaried personal trainers.
        • Work with the Personal Training Director and Sales team to successfully book 60% of all new member's welcome workouts.
        • Successfully teach and manage salaried trainers to schedule welcome workouts for existing and new members.
        • Work with the Personal Training Director to offer new demo group personal training sessions performed by the personal trainers.
        • Successfully manage and lead salaried personal trainers to build their businesses so that they can get off salary in 90 days or less.
        • Assist the personal training Director in interviewing and hiring new personal trainers.
        • Schedule weekly educational training meetings utilizing a set curriculum.
        • Work with the Personal Training Director to create new personal training revenue streams and programs.
        • Successfully reach team revenue goal per month.
      • Collaborate and communicate with the GM and membership department to ensure that Membership Counselors are creating value for our Welcome Sessions on the tour and are achieving success in booking appointments efficiently.
      • Ensure that all PT consultations performed at their location are structured, standardized, and consistent with corporate standards.
      • Effectively communicate all company and department initiatives, standards, and directives to the personal training team.
      • In partnership with HR and club and department management, provide input and actively participate in the evaluation of trainer performance and manage the separation process.
      • Complete payroll for the personal training department bi-monthly.
      • Establish and develop a collaborative and results-focused personal training team.
      • Develop and maintain lead generation strategies for the personal training team.

      Qualifications


      • A related University degree (in Exercise Science, Exercise Physiology, or Kinesiology) or equivalent experience is strongly preferred.
      • 2 years related sales experience.
      • 2 years experience in the fitness industry.
      • 2 years of leadership and people management experience including proven success in leading, coaching, and motivating teams and individuals to achieve goals and objectives.
      • Demonstrated ability to motivate and influence all levels of the organization.
      • Current CPR & First Aid are required and must be maintained through employment.
      • Ability to create and sustain a culture of service focused on hospitality, caring, welcoming and fun.
      • A passion for fitness. Demonstrated knowledge of fitness equipment and wellness strategies.
      • Effective communication (oral and written), interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
      • Strong computer skills; inclusive of MS Office, Mind Body, FitMetrix
