Job Description

- Leads a technically diverse engineering team (including Engineers, Sr. Engineers, Principal Engineers, Sr. Principal Engineers, and Engineering Co-op / Intern students) and Technical Services team to monitor and improve fleet reliability and provide aircraft engineering support to a variety of internal customers and suppliers to support daily operations.
- Drives fleet reliability improvements by leading reliability review investigations and initiative development.
- Communicates fleet metrics and initiatives with internal partners and leaders.
- Maintains awareness on fleet performance through various tools and reports.
- Provides development and training guidance and opportunities for team members.
- Performs station visits to solicit feedback from the front line and communicate fleet initiatives.
- Partners with internal and external fleet stakeholders.
- Responsible for defining and maintaining and improving the configuration, reliability, and maintenance program of their assigned aircraft structures and systems.
- Maintains employee records, attendance, work priority, and work distribution.
- Responsible for ensuring compliance with FAA regulations and Delta procedures regarding the issuance of engineering documentation improvements to ensure that risks are properly managed.
- Responsible for providing the approval authority on engineering documentation related to assigned equipment/responsibilities.
- Provides guidance for technical direction of assigned equipment/responsibilities including development and maintenance of Reliability Program technical requirements definition and Maintenance Programs.
- Responsible for development of technical recommendations/justifications in support of corrective action plans for various FAA/QA/CAS audit findings.
- Responsible for ensuring that proper training, both Delta and Technical, is provided for each employee.
- Represents Delta interests on various industry committees and OEM activities.
- Responsible for ensuring that the Safety program is maintained within the department and the CAS program, Reliability, and Maintenance Programs are complied with according to the requirements of TOPP.

- Bachelor’s Degree in engineering or equivalent technical aviation related discipline experience in an aviation engineering organization.
- Extensive industry and regulatory interfaces.
- Familiarity with airline flight operations and support systems and FAR 121 regulations is required.
- Knowledge of Technical Operations policies and procedures preferred.
- Ability to communicate to a diverse audience in various formal and informal environments.
- Ability to analyze incomplete information and implement timely decision making while mitigating risk factors.
- Must be able to develop and direct a fleet support strategy, communicate with internal/external partners and leaders, and develop strong partnerships with key stakeholders.
- Must be performing satisfactorily in present position.
- Consistently prioritizes safety and security of self, others, and personal data.
- Embraces diverse people, thinking, and styles.
- Possesses a high school diploma, GED, or high school equivalency.
- Is at least 18 years of age and has authorization to work in the United States.
