      The Fleet Maintenance Manager, as a senior member of the General Manager's Staff, is charged with the responsibility of organizing and directing subordinate personnel in all aspects of required procedures and standards necessary to maintain a professional, first class, day-to-day operation. The position is responsible for coordinating all maintenance activities and repairs, including shuttle maintenance, and dispatching maintenance technicians on customer courtesy calls. The Fleet maintenance manager will coordinate with the subcontracted Maintenance Staff to ensure all PM”s and repairs are completed absolutely and promptly.

      Additional duties include the following:

      • Report directly to the Assistant General Manager and/or other Senior Management.
      • Support Senior Management and Supervisors by maintaining open communications regarding day-to-day operations, staffing levels, unresolved issues/concerns and relaying communications to and from employees, Supervisors and Senior Management.
      • Responsible for establishing and coordinating maintenance schedules (including vacation, lunch breaks and leaves of absence), safety meetings, job training, ongoing employee evaluations, advising Senior Management of areas needing improvement and ensuring that all other supervisor duties are managed.
      • Updating all DOT required information, logs and training as required.
      • Responsible for managing employee relations in a courteous and professional manner and informing Senior Management when issues arise.
      • Abide by and ensure adherence to established policies, rules and regulations, and procedures of ABM and the Aviation Department, as applicable to the facilities, and enforcing the correct operating procedures at the entire facility to assure all environments work in a smooth and efficient manner.
      • Establish and maintain supply inventories for all aspects of maintenance operations including shuttle maintenance materials, shuttle and van fuel, cleaning supplies, trash bags, equipment and tools.
      • Coordinate the responsibilities of repairs and PM’s and ensure that responsibilities are completed in accordance with facility rules and procedures.
      • Maintain close liaison with the General Manager on all aspects of the shuttle operation, on a daily basis, advising of any problems encountered or anticipated which should be discussed and resolved.
      • Be responsible in matters normally requiring the decision of the General Manager, to act on his/her behalf should he/she be absent or unavailable. Such actions are to be documented, outlining the incident or subject and the resolution of the problem.
      • Monitor and review on a daily basis all required logs, for completeness and accuracy, assuring that proper accumulation of permanent records is maintained.
      • Maintain close liaison with contracted maintenance company on day-to-day equipment problems and assure cooperation of ABM personnel with regard to shuttle issues.
      • Monitor and review shift schedules to ascertain that staffing requirements are being maintained and overtime demands are kept minimal.
      • Evaluate the progress of employees within the trainee probationary periods, advising them of areas needing improvement before permanent status can be assigned.
      • In conjunction with job performance information, provided by the Supervisors and the utilization of payroll and cashier records, evaluate the progress of employees. Provide additional training when necessary and counsel those with poor attendance records. For future review, provide a copy of written warnings for individual personnel files.
      • Conduct preliminary investigation on any customer complaint.
      • Conduct preliminary investigation on all matters of discipline.
      • Be familiar with and enforce all policies set forth by the Aviation Department and ABM.
      • Review daily attendance reports.
      • Prepare and update Training Manuals for all positions.
      • Additional duties as required.
