What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Assist with stocking, donation processing, and maintaining a clean environment at the Bread for Life Food Co-op
- Provide member support and service, helping co-op members locate items and bag groceries
- Store and organize new donations and current stock in proper locations
- Assist with food donation pickups and weigh and record incoming donations
- Collaborate with the Lead Co-op Assistant and communicate effectively with the Co-op Manager
What is Required (Qualifications):
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Valid Illinois driver's license and ability to safely operate a company vehicle
- Ability to lift up to 75 pounds from service vehicles
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (primarily Outlook)
- Ability to work cooperatively with others and effectively with diverse backgrounds
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Prior experience working in a food pantry, warehouse, grocery, or similar environment
- Willingness to learn and follow food safety guidelines; food handler certification is a plus
