Job Description
Essential Functions of the position are detailed below, and include any physical requirements below that.* Assists the Program Director with the daily overall operations for assigned site(s) in the Community Food and Essentials program in coordination with other Catholic Charities program staff, Regional Operations, and Charities Hub to ensure clients have access to other programs and services. Creates a positive and engaging client experience.
* Ensure efficient operation of the food pantry including reporting changes to service hours and closings and addressing noncompliance issues with the Greater Chicago Food Depository. Maintains food pantry inventory by ordering food for food pantry(s) and resolves all issues related to that task. Monitors for sanitation, cleaning, and needed repairs.
* Monitors the provision of services to clients seeking food assistance. Implements food pantry policies and procedures. Ensures that food pantry(s) services are recorded in the link2feed database. Completes and submits monthly reports in a timely manner. Addresses requests for data and all other information regarding food pantry(s).
* Trains, schedules, and provides daily supervision to food pantry staff and volunteers. Evaluate staff performance utilizing Catholic Charities performance review tool. Seeks and shares best practices across food pantry(s) with the goal of developing and providing an exemplary client experience.
* Communicates with donors and approve appropriate food donations. Must maintain a flexible schedule to attend community events, committee meetings, and special events, as needed, and must be willing to travel between sites to fill in for staff, as needed. Must be fluent in English and Spanish to provide language interpretation.PLEASE NOTE: Essential functions include all other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
