- Compliance and Policy Management: Develop, implement, and maintain HR policies and procedures that comply with New York and New Jersey labor laws. Ensure that clients' practices are in compliance with federal, state, and local employment regulations.
- Employee Relations: Manage employee relations issues, provide guidance to management on conflict resolution, and serve as a trusted advisor to ensure a positive work environment.
- Recruitment and Onboarding: Assist in developing and executing recruitment strategies, manage the hiring process, and oversee onboarding and training programs for new hires, particularly for clients in the event staffing industry.
- Performance Management: Develop and implement performance management processes, including performance reviews, feedback mechanisms, and professional development initiatives.
- HR Strategy: Partner with clients to understand their business needs and develop HR strategies that align with their goals, focusing on areas like retention, employee engagement, and organizational development.
- HR Administration: Manage day-to-day HR operations, including maintaining employee records, handling payroll inquiries, and assisting with benefits administration.
- Advisory Role: Act as a consultant to senior management on various HR-related topics, such as employee relations, policy development, and organizational development.
- Compliance Audits: Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with labor laws and regulations in New York and New Jersey, particularly for staffing companies.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master’s degree or HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, SPHR) is a plus.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in Human Resources, with specific experience in managing HR functions for New York and New Jersey.
- Demonstrated experience in the staffing industry or in managing HR for staffing companies is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of employment laws and regulations in New York and New Jersey, with a proven track record of ensuring compliance.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple clients with varying needs.
- Experience with HR software and tools, as well as remote collaboration platforms.
