      What you'll be doing:

      Responsible for the efficient day-to-day operation of the warehouse with emphasis on managing warehouse personnel and the implementation of warehouse action plans.

      Essential functions:

      • Oversees the preparation of the warehouse for order picking operations including stocking, packing container preparation and general housekeeping.
      • Assists the Senior Director of Contracts with achieving departmental goals.
      • Schedules work assignments for employees.
      • Ensures all merchandise and shipping containers are restocked for order selection staff.
      • Ensures that all material handling equipment is serviced and in operating condition.
      • Ensures routine maintenance and operation of conveyor systems.
      • Ensures compliance with both internal and external standard operating procedures (SOP's).
      • Verifies and reconciles perpetual inventory records against on-hand accounts.
      • Works with other managers and supervisors to improve production output and quality.
      • Enforces safety within the warehouse.
      • Trains and supervises employees
      • Manages the attendance program for assigned shift.
      • Oversees daily operations within warehouse for assigned shift.
      • Coaches, counsels and assesses performance of hourly warehouse personnel.
      • Interacts with customers on a daily basis and attends regular customer meetings.
      • Maintains a professional and courteous relationship with customers and ensures that all personnel do the same.
      • Perform other related work as assigned.

      Requirements:

      • Associate degree in a related field or approved certifications in warehouse management from an accredited institution
      • Three to five (3 – 5) years of previous hands-on management experience in a fast paced, JIT distribution or manufacturing environment.
      • Supervisory experience required.
      • Production shift experience with working knowledge of all warehouse activities.
      • Working knowledge of OSHA, DOT, HAZMAT, FDA regulations and the willingness to become certified in one or more of these areas as necessary
      • Experience operating forklifts and pallet jacks.
      • Ability to operate and succeed in a fast-paced environment.
      • Thorough knowledge of ISO standards and clauses.
      • Thorough knowledge of a computerized warehouse management system.
      • Ability to obtain and maintain federal clearances.
      • Must possess excellent time management and organizational skills. Must have attention to detail.
      • Knowledge of Microsoft Office; AS400 experience a plus.
      • Excellent oral and written communication skills as well as interpersonal skills.
      • Excellent customer service skills.
      • Clean MVR and driving record

      Working Environment Conditions/ Requirements:

      • Ability to work a flexible work schedule

      Schedule: Monday- Friday (hours vary)
