      The Corporate & Investment Bank (CIB) delivers a comprehensive suite of banking, capital markets and advisory solutions, including a full complement of sales, trading and research capabilities, to corporate, government and institutional clients. We focus on our clients' overall financial needs, with consideration and respect for their total relationship with Wells Fargo.

      The Macro Strategy team develops content and views on global macro (interest rate and FX) markets. We collaborate with macro sales and trading in deepening client relationships and addressing their needs.

      The successful candidate will:

      • Partner with senior strategists to cover Foreign Exchange (FX) markets
      • Develop differentiated thematic and country specific strategy content for clients
      • Generate actionable market-relevant FX trade ideas
      • Connect the dots on global macro trends, geopolitical events, and market themes to financial markets
      • Develop statistical frameworks for analyzing global FX and EM asset markets
      • Effectively communicate macro strategy content to a variety of client segments
      • Collaborate with sales and trading desks to deepen client engagement

      This position is subject to FINRA Background Screening Requirements, including successful completion and clearing of a background check. Internal transfers are subject to comply with 17 CRF 240.17f-2 of the Securities Exchange Act of 1934 and FINRA Bylaws, Article III, Section 3, which states that Associated Persons should not be subject to statutory disqualification. Successful candidates must also meet ongoing regulatory requirements including additional screening and are required to report certain incidents.


      Required Qualifications:

      • 5+ years of Securities Strategies experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education


      Desired Qualifications:

      • Master’s degree or higher in Economics/Finance or a quantitative field
      • 5+ years experience as a strategist or economist on the buy side or sell side
      • Past coverage of international macroeconomics, FX and/or fixed income markets
      • Strong academic background in macroeconomics, econometrics, international finance, and fixed income
      • High proficiency in programming (Python or Matlab)
      • Expertise working with large financial and economic datasets via Bloomberg and/or Macrobond
      • Excellent oral/written communication skills
      • Strong problem-solving abilities are a must
      • Background in Emerging Markets, in particular Latin America
      • Previous interactions with large institutional and corporates clients
      • Experience working in a global team across time zones
      • Experience collaborating with sales and trading desks
      • Proficiency in Spanish or Portuguese


      Job Expectations:

      • Up to 10% travel
      • Registration for FINRA Series 63 (or 66) must be completed within 180 days of hire date if it is not available for transfer upon hire. FINRA recognized equivalents will be accepted.
      • Registration for FINRA Series 7 must be completed within 180 days of hire date if it is not available for transfer upon hire. FINRA recognized equivalents will be accepted.

      Pay Range

      Reflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to achievements, skills, experience, or work location. The range listed is just one component of the compensation package offered to candidates.

      $144,400.00 - $300,000.00
