      Req#: GENER006722

As General Manager of Bay Shores Peninsula Hotel, you're not just overseeing operations—you're becoming part of the story. This is a high-touch, guest-first leadership role designed for someone who thrives in hands-on management, excels in operational detail, and leads with a smile. You’ll work closely with Pacifica leadership and hotel ownership to preserve and re-imagine our hotel's legacy of warmth and authenticity, while continually enhancing our service, efficiency, and value for today’s traveler.

This hotel is in the process of a complete renovation on the level of a new build. This role is ideal for someone who has experience and passion for new openings – the chance to take our foundation and build your own team and experience. You’ll lead hiring, purchasing, programming, marketing, brand positioning, community outreach and more. As a hotelier, the right candidate cherishes tradition but embraces smart innovation—someone who believes in the power of a hand-written note, a perfectly prepared room, or a heartfelt greeting at the front desk.

Bay Shores Peninsula Hotel is a cozy coastal retreat in the heart of Newport Beach—where vintage charm meets heartfelt service. Just steps from the sand and beloved by generations of returning guests, our hotel feels more like a beach house than a brand. Every room, every interaction, every detail is shaped by our commitment to warm hospitality, local pride, and meaningful guest experiences. This is a true independent, boutique hotel in an ideal location.

As part of the Pacifica Hotels portfolio, we combine that personal, neighborhood feel with the operational excellence of a California lifestyle hospitality brand. Our teams are passionate, our standards are high, and our purpose is simple: to make every guest feel at home, every time.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities of the job include but are not limited to:
      • Deliver a Memorable Experience: Ensure every guest feels like family—from pre-arrival to check-out.
      • Lead Daily Operations: Oversee all departments including front desk, housekeeping, maintenance, and guest services with close attention to detail and consistency.
      • Build Guest Relationships: Be present and approachable. Know your regulars. Create connections that turn one-time visitors into lifelong guests.
      • Drive Financial Health: Monitor budgets, control expenses, and find smart efficiencies that maintain quality and boost profitability.
      • Inspire Your Team: Hire, coach, and motivate a close-knit team that shares your passion for service and pride in the hotel.
      • Collaborate with Ownership: During the opening process you’ll work directly with ownership to protect and evolve the hotel’s charm and performance.
      • Promote Local Pride: Represent the hotel in the Newport Beach community and build relationships with local vendors, businesses, and return guests.
      • Protect the Brand: Maintain quality, cleanliness, safety, and service that reflect the Bay Shores Peninsula Hotel name.
      • Be the first to greet a guest, clear a tray, or answer a call when the team needs support.

      Lead By Example:

      • Lead with kindness, professionalism, and a sense of humor.
      • Stay hands-on and detail-oriented—inspecting rooms, checking amenities, and walking the property daily.
      • Communicate clearly and respectfully with your team, your peers, and your leaders.
      • Celebrate successes, handle challenges with grace, and always act with integrity.\

      What You’ll Bring:

      • 2+ years of experience as a General Manager or Assistant GM in a hotel environment; boutique, leisure focused experience a plus.
      • Strong operational knowledge of hotel departments and processes.
      • A genuine passion for hospitality and serving others.
      • Excellent leadership and team development skills.
      • Financial acumen including budgeting, forecasting, and expense control.
      • Experience collaborating with, and communicating directly to, ownership or asset managers.
      • Comfort with Microsoft Office, hotel PMS/POS systems, and basic reporting.
      • A warm, welcoming personality with a commitment to guest satisfaction.

      Working Conditions:

      • You’re on your feet and hands-on much of the day—walking, standing, and lifting up to 20 lbs.
      • Available to work weekends, holidays, and seasonally driven schedules as needed.
      • Committed to maintaining a safe, welcoming environment for guests and staff alike.

Health Benefits, Travel Perks & More
Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance, 401k, Vacation and Sick Leave are offered with this position along with a Team Member Travel Program, encouraging each team member to visit sister properties and enjoy exclusive team member rates for rest and relaxation. We also encourage quarterly team building and giving back to the communities in which they work through regular volunteering, and select charity promotions throughout the year.

      Salary Range: $105,000 - $110,000 /annually
