      We are looking for a General Manager for our Pulp Mill in Paso de los Toros, Uruguay.

      What you will do

      • You will be responsible for Mill’s overall performance and development in all areas of operation: safety, environment, production, quality, and costs

      • You will develop the mill organization and teams to ensure required skills and competences, as well as employee development and well-being

      • You will develop assets to continuously improve operational efficiency over the life cycle of the mill, both in terms of investment and maintenance planning and execution management

      • You will align mill operation with UPM’s operational model and processes at BA and Corporate level, actively promoting collaboration across business units and global functions

      • You will promote seamless cooperation with key stakeholders and business partners

      Who you are

      • You have a master's degree in engineering, economics or an equivalent field of studies

      • You have at least 5 years of proven experience in leadership positions in process industry

      • You are a leader with a proven track record of engaging teams to perform and achieve targets

      • You have future thinking mindset and willingness to continuously improve

      • You have effective communication, interaction and team working skills

      • You communicate fluently in English

      • Knowledge of Spanish will be valued. Willingness to learn Spanish is mandatory

      • Experience in pulp production will be valued

      The position is located in Paso de los Toros, Uruguay.

      In this position you'll be reporting to the Vice President, UPM Uruguay Pulp and Forestry Operations.

      UPM Paso de los Toros mill is our most modern mill with an annual capacity of 2,1 million tons of bleached eucalyptus kraft pulp production. UPM Paso de los Toros mill is part of UPM Uruguay pulp & forestry operations which, in addition to the mill, comprise forestry operations by UPM Forestal Oriental, pulp production at UPM Fray Bentos mill and a multimodal industrial logistics platform with a specialized pulp terminal in the port of Montevideo.
