This is a high-touch, hands-on leadership role perfect for someone with strong operational acumen, an innovative sales mindset and a deep passion for boutique hospitality along with meticulous attention to detail. You’ll work closely with ownership to co-create and elevate the hotel’s personality, identity, and guest journey. Together, you'll push the boundaries of hospitality, transforming great stays into unforgettable moments that resonate far beyond checkout.

      What You’ll Do

      • Craft Unforgettable Stays: Personally deliver service that is thoughtful, authentic, and unmistakably Riviera.
      • Lead Boutique Operations: Oversee daily guest experience functions including front desk, housekeeping, maintenance, activations, F&B, Sales & Marketing, and community engagement.
      • Drive Sales : Focus on maximizing direct bookings, implementing upselling strategies, leveraging online marketing and creating strong guest relationships.
      • Drive Financial Performance and Expense Control: Manage budgets, forecasts, and financial reporting with accountability and precision.
      • Inspire Your Team: Mentor, empower, and grow a team that reflects the vibrant, creative culture of Santa Barbara and strives to promote the hotel’s vision.
      • Connect with the Community: Represent and actively promote the hotel with pride and develop meaningful local partnerships and cultural collaborations to tie into the guest experience.
      • Collaborate with Ownership: Work side-by-side with ownership to develop and refine guest programming, design direction, and community engagement.
      • Collaborate with Restaurant Tenant : Work closely with F+B partner to ensure hotel standards are met, and develop cross-promotional opportunities to enhance guest experience and revenue opportunities.
      • Execute Programming and Activations : Ensure quality execution of activations and special events to create value in the guest experience and amenities.
      • Balance Style and Substance: Elevate service, preserve brand integrity, and create elements of surprise and delight with little luxuries that create big impressions.

      You Lead By Example

      • Embody Riviera Beach House’s artistic, approachable, and elevated brand and ensuring consistent quality control and adherence to brand standards.
      • Stay deeply involved in daily operations, property inspections and renovations.
      • Maintain open, honest communication with both your team, on and above property, and hotel ownership.
      • Cultivate a culture of excellence, joy, and hospitality, connecting personally with guests and team members.
      • Create a personalized guest experience, where guests feel seen, heard, and inspired.

      What You Bring

      • 2+ years as a General Manager or equivalent in a boutique, lifestyle, or independent hotel. Luxury Hotel background is a plus.
      • A strong sales mindset and innovative strategies to drive business.
      • A creative mindset and deep appreciation for experiential hospitality.
      • Proven operational leadership across multiple departments and ongoing training for the team.
      • Experience working directly with ownership or asset partners on programming and elevating guest journey design.
      • Stellar communication and team-building skills.
      • Confidence in reading financial reports and managing budgets.
      • Knowledge of hospitality systems (PMS, POS) and comfort with tools like Microsoft Office.
      • A passion for Santa Barbara’s local flavor is a plus.

      Additional Essentials

      • Frequent on-your-feet presence—indoors and outdoors—with light lifting (up to 20 lbs).
      • Availability for weekends, holidays, and evenings based on business need and seasonality of the hotel.
      • Commitment to safety, inclusion, and an inspired workplace.

      A Final Note

This is not your traditional GM role—it’s a collaboration in hospitality, design, and storytelling. You’ll help define what Riviera Beach House means to every guest who walks through our doors. This is your chance to build something special—and shape what boutique hospitality looks like when it's done with passion, purpose, and soul.
