What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Produce and maintain geographic data and graphics for airport-related GIS, CAD, and BIM projects
- Review the adequacy and quality of geospatial data, providing recommendations for improvements
- Develop GIS databases following established standards and produce metadata
- Perform basic data maintenance to correct data issues and compile mapping/cartographic data
- Stay current with GIS, CAD, and BIM software trends while participating in training and career development activities
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Bachelor's Degree in geography, urban planning, geographic information systems, or a related field
- 1-3 years of experience utilizing GIS, CAD, and/or BIM systems software, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Knowledge of FAA's Airport GIS Program and FAA Advisory Circulars related to airport operations
- Experience with GIS software systems, specifically ArcGIS Server and ArcGIS Desktop
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information to non-technical audiences
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience customizing web maps and applications using ArcGIS Online or Portal for ArcGIS
- Familiarity with HTML5 and/or JavaScript
- Knowledge of CAD and BIM data conversion processes to GIS
- Ability to create high-quality graphic products
- Experience managing spatial data concepts, projection systems, and geo-databases
