      Job Purpose and Impact

      The Global Health and Safety Director, Contractor Safety, will establish global health and safety polices and standards to achieve the company goal of zero fatalities and serious injuries. In this role, you will apply deep health and safety knowledge to assess, define, develop, and deploy global contractor safety programs. As a member of the corporate health and safety leadership team, you will serve as the global program manager and subject matter authority for the safety of employees and contractors.

      Key Accountabilities

      • Lead a cross-functional global team to assess, develop and deploy health and safety strategies for our diverse contractor groups (operations, maintenance, construction, contingent labor, capital/expense projects)
      • Develop collaborative relationships with business stakeholders to align key initiatives and develop future road map.
      • Develop contractor safety capability across the business and build a risk-reduction culture mindset for all contractor activities.
      • Develop systems and metrics to effectively track, monitor and report progress to business and leadership team members.
      • Provide technical, regulatory and strategic direction, support and training on health and safety risk management requirements and tools.
      • Monitor and analyze leading and lagging metrics to identify areas for improvement.
      • Provide knowledge in leading practice and trends by engaging in external professional organizations.
      • Other duties as assigned

      This position could work from a remote home office location in the United States.

      Qualifications

      MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

      • Bachelor’s degree in a related field OR equivalent experience
      • Demonstrated understanding of industry best practices in health and safety standards
      • Minimum of eight years of related work experience
      • Ability to influence others without direct authority
      • Ability to travel up to 25% both domestically and internationally

      PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

      • Education in science, health and safety, engineering, construction safety OR a related field
      • Experience with contractor safety management
      • Technical health and safety certification such as: CSP, CMIOSH
      • Experience deploying health and safety programs at a regional or global scale
