      What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
      - Collaborate with the Government Relations Director to develop and implement legislative platforms for advocacy
      - Assess policy impacts of proposed legislation and prepare analyses and updates for county leadership
      - Research and analyze legislation, presenting options and writing correspondence related to advocacy efforts
      - Lobby and present information on legislative initiatives to legislators and stakeholders
      - Track the progress of relevant legislation and coordinate the distribution of enacted laws to county departments

      What is Required (Qualifications):
      - Bachelor’s Degree in public administration, policy, political science, government, public affairs, or a related field
      - Four years of experience in legislative, intergovernmental, policy research/analysis, and/or lobbying
      - Ability to work collaboratively with external organizations and stakeholders
      - Strong analytical and communication skills
      - Flexibility to meet the demands of the position and work schedule

      How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
      - Experience in lobbying on issues related to Health and Human Services, Public Safety, Transportation, or Economic Development
      - Familiarity with legislative processes at both state and federal levels
      - Proven ability to develop and present policy positions effectively
      - Experience working with governmental entities or public foundations
      - Strong networking skills and ability to build relationships with stakeholders
