      Head of Global Competitive Intelligence, Oncology (GCI)

      Location: US or Europe (remote)

      We are seeking a senior leader who will bring technical and organizational expertise in competitive intelligence and lead our Global Competitive Intelligence team for Oncology.

      The Head of Competitor Intelligence, Oncology will shape strategy and influence investment decisions by delivering analysis and insights to Senior Leadership and other key partners to ensure a full understanding of the constantly evolving external landscape.

      Key Responsibilities:

      This role is fundamental to leading the development and delivery of competitive intelligence for Global Product Strategy (GPS) in Oncology, brand strategies and business priorities:

      • Provide appropriate context and support to the Medicine Commercialization Leaders and the SVP Global Product Strategy, Oncology through the delivery of Competitive Intelligence for brand/asset, portfolio strategies and business development opportunities.
      • Act as an internal strategic consultant, thought partner, and decision leader to the SVP Global Product Strategy, Oncology and their leadership team, based on deep Oncology expertise in implementing strategic and competitive insights into strategies across the portfolio.
      • Development of end to end, consistent and objective competitive intelligence platform and capabilities to deliver focused and proactive insights, to implement into strategies across GPS that will accelerate and enhance the execution of critical priorities for Oncology.
      • Further partner across departments (e.g., Development, Medical) to provide enterprise leadership in competitive intelligence.
      • Lead a team of CI experts in Oncology (senior managers and directors).
      • Contribute to planning of GSK external corporate updates by ensuring GSK senior management (up to and including CEO) are appropriately briefed on current competitor activities in Oncology (e.g., Quarterly Financial results, Investor Days, R&D Days) and can respond effectively to questions arising regarding competitor activities.
      • Directly accountable for providing competitive intelligence input for the TA through supporting development of commercial forecasts, brand strategy decisions (including evidence generation), in-market competitor response activities and assessment of potential in-licensing opportunities supporting Oncology.

      Why You?

      Basic Qualifications:

      • Master’s degree or higher - Science, Business, or Information Science
      • Minimum 8 years’ experience in healthcare, in pharmaceutical (medical or marketing background) or management consultancy, with deep Oncology experience
      • Requires a deep understanding of the pharmaceutical R&D and commercialization process and decision points

      Preferred Qualifications:

      • Ph.D. or MBA – Science
      • Deep understanding of drug development process, including activities from preclinical through marketing of a product, principles of disease treatment, rationale for treatment algorithms and business knowledge of pharma companies and their business practices
      • Proven record in providing insightful and actionable competitive insights through innovative approaches
      • Experienced in a global matrix environment, across a range of functions, seniority, and geographical locations
      • Proven record in successfully managing a team of CI experts (Director level) to support strategic decision making in a large organization
      • Requirement for credibility with senior internal and external (directly or indirectly) stakeholders and ability to develop and make recommendations based on objective competitive intelligence
