      Job Description

      We are seeking a Health & Safety Advisor for a rotational, site-based role in Nunavut, Canada. This position operates on a fly-in, fly-out 3x3 rotation and is pivotal in ensuring a safe and compliant work environment across underground mining operations. The role focuses on training, inspections, and continuous improvement of health and safety practices.

      Responsibilities

      • Promote a culture of safety by ensuring compliance with applicable health and safety legislation, internal procedures, and industry best practices.
      • Conduct regular underground workplace inspections to identify and mitigate potential hazards.
      • Collaborate with engineering and geology teams to assess ground stability and subsidence risks.
      • Support incident investigations and assist departments in developing job hazard analyses.
      • Deliver site-specific training programs, including safety orientations, first aid, mine rescue, and WHMIS.
      • Monitor and manage underground ventilation systems to ensure safe air quality levels.
      • Provide both classroom-based and on-site practical training for heavy equipment operations.
      • Maintain and update training materials, evaluation tools, and role-specific training matrices.

      Essential Skills

      • Five years of experience in a Health and Safety Officer role with significant experience in underground operations in the mining industry.
      • Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) or CRST.
      • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite.
      • Experience implementing strategies.
      • Ability to develop and implement Health & Safety programs and procedures.
      • Ability to facilitate and deliver Health & Safety related courses.

      Additional Skills & Qualifications

      • Certification in IS and Audits.
      • Experience with OHS software and site documentation.

      Work Environment

      The role is based on a fly-in, fly-out (FIFO) rotation of three weeks on, three weeks off. You will be working in a camp setting with a living out allowance (LOA) provided. After a nine-month contract, there is potential for permanent employment, along with opportunities for bonuses, benefits, and the possibility to buy and hold shares after two years with the publicly held company.

      The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $58.00/hr.
