What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Promulgate Washington Administrative Code (WAC or rules) for healthcare programs
- Provide technical assistance to staff in compiling program data for Small Business Economic Impact Statements
- Organize and manage multiple rule development workgroups
- Develop and update provider billing manuals and instructions
- Collaborate with subject matter experts to create clear and concise provider documents
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Demonstrated knowledge of Washington State rule-making statutes and regulations
- Proven ability to write clearly and concisely using "Plain Talk" principles
- Effective communication skills with diverse groups, including internal and external stakeholders
- Strategic planning skills for rule and document development
- Minimum qualifications include a Master's degree with two years of relevant experience or a Bachelor's degree with four years of relevant experience
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- At least 1 year of experience in writing and promulgating Washington Administrative Code for a state agency
- Master's degree in public health, public administration, or related field
- Two years of consultative experience in health services or Medicaid programs
- Certified Public Manager certification
- Web development skills using SharePoint, HTML, or other applications
