      Description

      In addition to all duties in Program Coordinator I, Program Coordinator II will perform these duties:
      Functioning as a Health Educator, as a member of a multidisciplinary team, providing health education to adolescents in
      school and community based settings including but not limited to healthy sexuality, prevention of STIs and unplanned
      pregnancy, substance/alcohol/tobacco prevention, and emotional well being
      Develops, organizes and facilitates psycho-educational groups, trainings and classroom presentations to students, school
      administrators, teachers and parents
      Provide 1 on 1 sessions with teens
      Administer STI tests on school campus, deliver results and connect teens to treatment
      Works closely with other HRC staff
      Links adolescents and their families to existing community services
      Participates in the training of peer health educators and others as requested. Provides trainings and other duties in
      summer months as required
      Attends all trainings as required by program director
      Assists with the development of health education materials for adolescents
      Functions according to all protocols and policies of HRC
      Documents and collects information regarding services provided according to policies of program. Represents BPHC and
      HRC at meetings, health fairs and conferences as requested
      Collaborates with other BPHC programs in providing services
      Performs other duties as required.
      This job description is based on the Program Coordinator Series. May be required to perform any and all duties and
      responsibilities of a Coordinator II, as set forth in the BPHC Coordinator Series.

      Qualifications

      BA/BS required OR 3 years of equivalent experience in public health program coordination, management and/or
      community organizing may be substituted for undergraduate degree.
      Experience with urban, at-risk youth and their families. Competency and sensitivity in working with racially and culturally
      diverse populations.
      Knowledge and understanding of adolescent developmental issues.
      Demonstrated experience coordinating and implementing complex projects in the area of position.
      Ability to:
      write clear, concise reports and to follow and to give written and oral instructions in a precise, understandable
      manner;
      understand, explain, apply the laws, rules, regulations, policies, procedures of unit activities;
      and establish rapport with others and to maintain harmonious working relationship with others.
      Advanced knowledge & experience with MSOffice, MSWord/Excel, SAS with the ability to analyze and interpret data.
      Advanced experience with and knowledge of local community agencies and health care providers.
      Exceptional organizational skills with the ability of developing timelines and meeting deadlines.
      Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively.
      Bi-lingual Spanish speaker preferred.
