- Manual handling of patients, using lifting aids

- Be able to take an active role to be a link person for specific tasks i.e. IPC and to carry out audits, meetings, feedback to the team as required.
- Ability to follow instructions and feedback to senior staff.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Able to provide supervision i.e. for HCA or T level students.
- Maintain confidentiality at all times.
- You understand that we will not provide sponsorship to work for this role.
- Willingness to undertake further training
- Knowledge of care related procedures, clinical observations and relevant legislation
- Basic IT skills
- Can demonstrate an understanding of how to promote independence and facilitate learning in others
- Ability to demonstrate knowledge of MHA and MCA issues

Job summary
We are currently recruiting an experienced Band 3 Healthcare Assistant various hours per week to be part of our team at Tenbury Community Hospital, which has an inpatient ward with 19 beds. The candidate will work closely with the multidisciplinary team (MDT) to achieve specific rehabilitation goals. This will be a challenging and exciting opportunity and will enable the individual to develop new and existing skills.
Tenbury Community Hospital plays a critical role in the delivery of local NHS services, providing more care and treatment closer to peoples homes. Emphasis is to reduce length of stay whilst ensuring excellent care which is safe, effective, personalised and compassionate and to the standards you would expect for your family and friends.

This post requires working rotational shifts.
Main duties of the job
The main duties of a healthcare Assistant are: -
Competently perform the necessary aspects of care for patients
Follow all policies and provide a safe and person-centred environment for patients.
Participate in personal and practice development activities to maintain standards of care.
Provide clerical support to the ward including filing of notes and ward documentation, arranging transport, preparing requisitions for ordering stationery and supplies.
To carry out assigned patient care duties as directed by registered health professional without direct supervision. Examples of these (but not conclusive list) may be measuring height, weight, taking temperature, pulse, respirations, sa02, manual and electronic BP, Urinalysis, assisting with feeding.
Recognise urgent or emergency situations within the environment and summon appropriate help along with an ability to support the multi-disciplinary team understanding their role at these times.
Use IT systems for data input and collection, patient health records, treatment requests and results.
Ensure that all clinical documentation is accurately collected, updated, stored and filed in accordance with local information governance and record keeping policy and guidance.
