What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Supervise workout facilities and instruct safe and effective exercise routines for older adults
- Develop individualized fitness programs tailored to participants' needs
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate wellness programs and educational components
- Design and implement comprehensive wellness programs
- Maintain fitness-related equipment and ensure a safe exercise environment
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science, Fitness Physiology, Physical Education, or a related field
- Minimum of 1 year of experience teaching exercise
- CPR Certification required
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word
- Strong communication skills (verbal, written, and listening) and ability to maintain confidentiality
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Master's degree in Exercise Science, Fitness Physiology, Physical Education, or a related field
- Experience developing customized fitness programs based on health assessments
- Experience instructing individuals on the proper use of fitness equipment
- Experience working with the older adult population in a fitness setting
- Preferred certifications such as ACSM, ACE, or CPT
