What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Perform accurate and timely quality reviews of internal and vendor coding team members
- Develop and deliver coding education to team members based on quality review outcomes
- Review and respond to coding denials and perform clinical validation of appeal letters
- Compile and track statistics related to quality reviews and follow-ups
- Serve as a subject matter expert for coding denials, providing guidance to staff and physicians
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Certified Professional Coder (CPC) or other relevant certifications from recognized associations
- Proven experience in coding and quality review processes
- Strong knowledge of coding guidelines and standards
- Ability to analyze coding trends and provide educational recommendations
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience with coding software, such as EPIC
- Familiarity with coding denials and appeal processes
- Background in clinical validation and documentation review
- Previous experience in training or mentoring coding staff
- Knowledge of healthcare regulations and compliance standards
