      What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
      - Code diagnoses and procedures accurately using ICD-9/10-CM and CPT coding systems
      - Abstract and verify information from medical records, ensuring sufficient documentation for coding
      - Assign diagnostic and operative/procedure codes for inpatient and outpatient records
      - Review medical records for coding accuracy and address deficiencies or inconsistencies
      - Participate in audits of medical records and provide coding assistance as needed

      What is Required (Qualifications):
      - Completion of required coursework and/or degree for accreditation or registration with AHIMA
      - Required accreditation as a Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT), Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA), Certified Coding Specialist (CCS), or Certified Coding Associate (CCA)
      - Recent HIM or HIT graduate preferred if accreditation is completed within 6 months of employment
      - Demonstrated competency in ICD-9/10-CM and CPT coding
      - Ability to perform physical demands such as standing, walking, and frequent computer use

      How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
      - Membership in the Clinical Coding Society (a division of AHIMA) is preferred
      - Experience with Affinity system and 3M Encoder is a plus
