      Position Overview

      The HIM Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of health information management, including the collection, storage, analysis, and dissemination of health data. This role involves ensuring the accuracy, confidentiality, and security of patient information while also complying with healthcare regulations and standards. The HIM Manager will lead a team of health information professionals and collaborate with other departments to enhance patient care and operational efficiency. This individual oversees the collection, classification, and coding of health information to ensure accurate data and maintain high-quality standards in medical records. The HIM Manager will develop, implement, and enforce policies and procedures related to health information management. This individual will conduct regular audits and quality control checks on health records to identify and rectify discrepancies. The HIM Manager will ensure patient records are maintained, retrieved and disposed of according to regulatory guidelines and best practices. This individual will work closely with physicians, nursing staff, IT professionals, and other healthcare providers to ensure the effective use of health information and provide training to internal and external staff regarding coding or record retrieval.

      EDUCATION:

      • High School Diploma or equivalent, required
      • Bachelor's degree, preferred
        • Four (4) years of experience in Healthcare may be considered in lieu of a degree, in addition to the required experience below.

      EXPERIENCE:

      • Previous supervisory experience with one (1) or more years of coding experience in a hospital setting, required.
      • Two (2) to five (5) years of healthcare experience, preferred.
      • Two (2) years of experience in supervisory or management roles, preferred.

      LICENSE/CERTIFICATIONS:

      • Current Medical Coding Certificate

      KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:

      • Strong verbal and written communication skills
      • Excellent conflict resolution skills
      • Problem-solving skills
      • Self-motivated and self-starting
      • Training and education
      • Use of usual and customary equipment used to perform essential functions of the position
      • Position will be onsite and not remote
