Minimum to Midpoint Pay Rate: $20.00 - $23.50 / hour
Summary
Performs a variety of key responsibilities associated with medical records functions, provides primary department and multi-line telephone coverage. Sorts, scans, indexes and performs quality accuracy checks on medical record documents before submitting to the electronic medical record. Performs detailed work by examining all documents for accuracy per patient for quality and quantity standards. Multi-task oriented with the ability to appropriately handle complex issues. Processes incoming requests for medical information of all types and releasing of records according to HIPAA guidelines. Assists with department coverage to include all HIM duties. Transports records from various facilities to a central location in a timely and efficient manner.

Communication and interpersonal skills required. Broad range of computer skills, knowledge of Microsoft Office (Work, Excel). Excellent customer service skills, ability to problem solve ability to work independently, operate office equipment (phone, fax and copier). Knowledge of medical terminology and proficiency in HIM specific software applications.
