What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Perform centralized coding via scanned medical records and clinician documentation via EMR data
- Review records and recommend changes for clinician review and acceptance based on CMS regulation and coding conventions
- Assess and review assessments for coding accuracy based on documentation and CMS regulations
- Maintain minimal productivity number standards daily and meet auditing and productivity scores for coding quality
- Ensure adherence to federal, state, and agency regulations and policies to maintain confidentiality of patient information
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Current RN license-state-specific
- Nationally accredited Coding ICD-10 certification required and maintained yearly
- Nationally accredited OASIS certification required and maintained yearly
- Associate's degree or greater in a clinical program
- Minimum three years of ongoing coding and abstracting experience in ICD-10-CM for home health agencies preferred
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Formal clinical background
- Home health experience preferred
- Experience with OASIS analysis preferred
- Knowledge of SHP and/or Decision Health Coding Pro preferred
