Job Description

- Represent Severance Music Center with professionalism and courtesy at all times.
- Manage all Front of House activities during events, ensuring a welcoming and organized environment.
- Enforce radio communication protocols from the beginning to the end of each shift.
- Lead pre-show briefings for staff and volunteers; collaborate with Head Ushers to ensure appropriate volunteer distribution throughout Severance venues.
- Address guest inquiries, seating concerns, and accessibility needs with efficiency and empathy.
- Coordinate with Box Office, Security, Stagehands, and Hall Staff to ensure seamless event execution.
- Ensure public areas are clean, safe, and guest-ready prior to each event.
- Enforce venue policies, including late seating, photography restrictions, and audience etiquette, as well as guidelines outlined in FOH Handbook for staff and volunteers.
- Report any incidents, patron concerns, safety issues, or operational improvements.
- Front of House experience in a performing arts venue preferred
- Ability to remain calm under pressure or in an emergency
- Strong customer service skills and ability to respond to guest needs appropriately
- A friendly demeanor, good judgement, and a solution-oriented mindset
- Ability to relate to a diverse population
- Ability to communicate with all levels of Musical Arts Association staff
- Leadership qualities to motivate and manage paid and volunteer staff
- Attention to detail as well as ability to understand the big picture
- Able to work evenings, weekends, holidays and during weekdays
- Professional dress and appearance
- Reliable attendance
The Cleveland Orchestra is seeking an individual who will serve on a part-time, as needed basis, as House Manager for concerts and events at Severance Music Center. The House Manager will coordinate with Front of House management, Security, Engineering and Hall Staff, and provide outstanding guest service for all patrons. The House Manager will direct paid and volunteer staff as they relate to guests, performance halls and public spaces during concerts and special events.
Position responsibilities include the following:The successful candidate will meet the following qualifications:We offer complimentary concert tickets, and the opportunity to work with a world-renowned Orchestra. The hourly rate is $15.
