- Ability to provide high-quality, authoritative Human Factors advice and expertise.
- Enjoys developing and delivering technical training and mentoring the development of others.
- Able to apply human reliability methodologies to identify and assess operator actions; observing, understanding and helping to improve operator performance and reliability.
- Works collaboratively with multi-discipline teams to assess, inform and optimise Human Machine Interfaces (e.g. control room, panels, plant) and operations (e.g. management arrangements & procedures) across the entire plant lifecycle (Human Factors Integration – HFI).
- Motivated, self-starting, dynamic technical leader who is able to work with multiple disciplines and organisational levels to drive HF into all aspects of EDF’s Civil Nuclear Fleet.
- Ability to understand the bigger picture, distil a range of source data and analysis to define, scope and strategically plan implementation of HF into EDF’s Civil Nuclear Fleet.
- Thrives in working in high profile, time critical projects identifying and delivering HF solutions across a diverse range of Nuclear Operations and Process.
- Capable of developing strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders and suppliers with diverse experiences and requirements to build trust and confidence.

The Opportunity...
Nuclear Services is EDF UK’s Technical Centre of Excellence for civil nuclear, and a platform for collaboration, driving a common approach and replication, where appropriate, across our fleet of advanced gas-cooled (AGR) and pressurised water reactors (PWR).
As a Human Factors Engineer, you will be leading the integration of HF into EDF’s operations, processes, design and safety cases across EDF’s existing Nuclear Fleet and our New Build Projects.
The role provides you with the opportunity to be involved in a wide variety of HF activities and to influence many different groups and industry-leading projects across the business including the design, construction and operation of Hinkley Point C (HPC) and Sizewell C (SZC).
