- Conduct research and ergonomic assessments to optimize controls, operator comfort and anthropometric accommodation.
- Evaluate cognitive aspects of lift truck operation through simulation and the design of experiments.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including mechanical engineers, electrical engineers, software engineers, and industrial designers to build proof-of-concepts showcasing new technology.
- Stay abreast of industry advancements and contribute to intellectual property development through patent applications and publications.
- Effectively communicate concepts, research findings and project updates through presentations, reports, and documentation.
- Drive innovation by proposing and exploring novel ideas and approaches to solve customer challenges.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Robotic + 1 year of experience
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think creatively and adapt to new challenges.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Self-motivated individual with strong time management and organizational skills.
- Demonstrated track record of effectively collaborating as a team member on multidisciplinary teams.
- Familiarity with CAD tools.
- Enthusiasm for learning and a passion for contributing to innovative projects in the material handling industry.
- Previous internship/co-op experience with Raymond or Toyota.
- Experience in conducting research and product development in the areas of lift trucks, robotics and automation.
- Hands-on attitude with a proactive approach to actively participate in the design, construction, and testing of proof of concepts.
- Internship or relevant work experience in a research or engineering environment.
- Industrial Design skill sets and experience relative to form, aesthetics, interaction, presentation and concept storytelling.

About the total compensation package:
Salary - $80,000 - $96,000 per year. Compensation depends on the selected candidate’s education and experience.
Relocation – This position may qualify for relocation.
